Watch storage guide
A good watch box should fit both your collection and the place where it lives. Start with the dimensions of your watches, then choose the finish you enjoy.
1. Count the watches you actually wear
A small box can be the right choice for a daily rotation. A larger one leaves room for future pieces, but takes up more space on your dresser. Compare the external dimensions, not just the number of slots.
2. Check cushion and compartment size
Case diameter, thickness and bracelet length all affect fit. Large crowns, thick cases and short bracelets can need extra room. A watch should sit securely without forcing its clasp shut around the cushion. Ask for measurements if your watch is an unusual size.
3. Leave clearance under the lid
Make sure the crystal and bezel do not press against the lid when closed. Individual compartments help separate watches, but should still leave enough space between crowns, buckles and neighbouring pieces.
4. Pick the right place
Store your collection in a dry place away from direct sunlight, damp bathrooms and strong magnetic sources. A storage box is not a safe, and a glass lid is not a security feature.
5. Care for the finish
Use a soft dry cloth first. Avoid household solvents, excess water or leather treatments unless the product instructions confirm they are suitable. Let a watch dry after cleaning before putting it away.
